I truly love coming to this place. It has a really comfortable environment, and the rice roll is my go-to. It is hard to find food that tastes homemade but this place does the perfect job! I recommend the tuna rice roll because it is my favorite! The vegetables are seasoned with a delicious soy sauce. Check this place out if you are looking for a breakfast spot or a quick snack! Prices are great and workers are very sweet.

Tried this place for the first time. Got 2 types of jainbing (crepes), mixed noodles and their chive pockets as takeout. Everything was delicious! I would highly recommend this place. Also, order online directly from their website, much cheaper than Uber Eats.

A very interesting cuisine. I love the menu but I can stay I'm an expert of this "northern" cuisines. It's kind of like a mix between Shanghinese and Taiwanese cuisine. The soy milk is really good so don't mix it with anything. The place is clean and tranquil with a nice atmosphere.

Chen Xiang Ji is one of those places that initially felt like a hidden gem — I was so excited when I found it. It’s a super convenient spot for Chinese-style breakfast with tons of variety. Whether you're craving something sweet, savory, southern or northern — they seem to have it all. They offer everything from Taiwanese rice balls and egg crepes, to congee, noodles, wontons, dumplings, and even things like scallion oil noodles. Oh — and the thing I couldn’t remember earlier — yes, they also have jianbing! (That crispy egg pancake with youtiao and sauce — a must-try.) When they first opened, I was seriously impressed by their low prices and huge menu. I felt like I struck gold — the value was amazing, and I ended up eating there several days in a row just to try everything. My husband really likes their bibimbap-style rice bowls, and I agree — they’re pretty tasty. That said, they’ve made some menu and price adjustments recently — some items, like the spicy Hunan-style noodles they used to have, are no longer available, and prices have gone up a bit. Still, I think they’re fair for what you get. Food-wise: The rice balls are good, though the filling isn’t super generous compared to other Taiwanese spots. Egg crepes, wontons, and suan la fen (spicy-sour noodles) are all decent — solid 3.5 to 4 out of 5. Their fried snacks, like the seafood rolls and sausage, are really enjoyable — I think their small bites and sides are a strong point. The location has free parking, which is always a plus, and while the restaurant itself is small, it’s great for a quick, casual Chinese brunch when you’re craving a variety of comfort food. Overall, while the flavor isn’t mind-blowing, it’s consistently satisfying, and the wide selection keeps me coming back. I’d say most dishes are in the 3 to 4 out of 5 range, and that’s good enough when you want a one-stop spot for all kinds of Chinese breakfast and snacks.

Food 4/5 Service 3/5 Vibe 5/5 New restaurant in the plaza on 16th near Bayview or Leslie. Their chinese crepe and rice balls looked really good on the wall so i decided to give it a try! Service is a bit slow since only 2 people are working so be a bit patience. Food overall was pretty good! I personally really enjoy the chinese crepe aka 煎饼. This time i only got the basic one (since im very picky on my crepe selections) but next time i will def go for the more fancy ones. Noodles were alright, but i dont think ill get them again. the rice bowl was really good, and the tea egg was also very flavourable. I think ill come back again if im in the area and try out the rice balls the next time!

Unfortunately a bit of a misnomer as the authenticity of the cuisine left a lot to be desired. The Chinese crepe was soft and chewy (evidently not made from mung bean or coarse grains) and our chive & egg pockets came out cold. Still giving this 4 stars overall for the friendly and quick service.

Came here 5:10 pm Sunday afternoon. Was told they close at 6 but last order at 5:30. Scan QR code to order even need a pin number. Their savory pancake is kind of dry. Wonton is okay. The rice roll wrapped in seaweed is the better of the three items. It uses purple rice which is not the case elsewhere.
