Went in for an Emission Test and Shawn helped me out. He was very accurate with the time estimation, called me to let me know when it was ready. On my way out I asked him about specific fuel injector products and he guided me through the entire thing. He is very patient and helpful, always ask for Shawn!
Huge store! Canadian tire really is a beautiful place for handy people like me who like doing things. Tge fact that they carry average, good and premium products at the best prices is of course the idea of the place. Staff was friendly throughout. The only reason for the 4 stars is that their app and their internal inventory system all said there were 6 fans of the type I wanted (needed 2), which were not available in the 3 stores that are closer to me, so came all the way, only to discover that there are in fact none (the staff were baffled as well since it said in their system also they exist, and looked all around and found none). But otherwise an excellent experience
One of the better Canadian Tire stores. Given that Canadian Tire has tried to become everything to everyone (a losing proposition) actually having a decent store is difficult since variety overall ofyen trumps depth of selection in any one category. But because this is one of the larger stores and out of several interactions with staff they actually seem to care it's really not too bad.
FALSE ADVERTISING. Today I went to Silver Linden Canadian Tire to buy a special that was advertised in the Back to School Sale Flyer, Friday August 16 (wrong date) to Sunday August 19. The flyer advertises a package of 6 boxes of SCOTTIES TISSUES on sale for $3.99 instead of the regular $7.49. When I brought the Scotties to the cash I was told these were not the ones for $3.99. They said it was a different product number. I don't see what the difference was because I brought up exactly the same thing that was advertised in the flyer and the "manager" couldn't explain it to me other than to say it was a different product number. This makes absolutely no sense; it just seems to be a way to get customers into the store for their "special." I asked for the ones that they say were on sale but they said they were sold out and they could not give me a rain check. The "manager" defended their false advertising and said it was not false. NO GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE AND THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THIS STORE.
The owner is a complete nutbar because no sane person could create the layout for this store. He has no idea how to run a business....there are plants everywhere outside and random merchandise stored all over the store....dont even get me started on the maze to get to the checkout. This is the only Canadian tire with stupid return and price adjustment policies and the poor staff have to sound like idiots reiterating these policies. I really hope theyre paying these staff members more because no one could pay me enough to sound as stupid as they do when they have to explain stupid policies. They should just get rid of the returns part of the store completely if all theyre going to do is piss people off when they try to return something. I brought back a defective hose and I had to exchange it for another one and then I got that one and it was defective too so I had to exchange it AGAIN. The owner or whoever makes the policy must think this is a good way to make money but all youre doing is turning business away. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CANADIAN TIRE. THEY LOCK YOU INTO ITEMS WITH THEIR HORRIBLE POLICIES AND SELL GARBAGE. But the staff here are really friendly...so theres one positive comment.
