Barber butchered my hair at the back and shaved in bald spots. Wont be back.
Great, friendly service.Started going to this spot after trying it once when I was in a hurry. Been going back ever since. Santos and Lawrence are great. They take their time and are very skilled. I'm always very happy with the result.
Two barbers in this joint butchered me. One cut my hair way too short in the front, giving me basically a mens brush cut. I was horrified. I went back a month later, today, and another barber shaved it way too short on the sides and then just shaved a pencil eraser sized spot on the back of my head to the scalp. There is a small bald spot there as he was trying to blend with two short of a razor and screwed up. Again, horrifying. They butchered me please do not go here.
Horrible! I came in with dark long (almost black) hair up to my hips. I wanted a subtle bayalage, with the lighter ends just being a dark chocolate brown (just a couple shades lighter). I showed the lady who did my hair many refrence photos and explained that i only wanted the lighter colour concentrated at the ends. I didn't want the top of my hair touched or too close to my face since i prefer how dark hair looks against my face. She seemed confident and said that was something she could do. I was brought to the back where she handed me a hair brush and told me to comb out and untangle my hair. I've never been at a hair salon where I've been told to do that. She never showed me samples of hair colours so I could tell her what I wanted. I figured she knew what she was doing because of the reference photos i showed her but still found it odd. Whenever i have had my hair done, the stylist always shows and goes over the samples with me regardless of photos. Then she started bleaching my hair. She made me cut my own foils. Yup. Gave me the box of foil put the table close to me and told me to cut foils. Sorry, isn't this your job? What are you being paid for? I did it despite having a bad feeling in my gut because she had already applied bleach to one section of hair. She insisted and did add highlights to the section of hair right around my face despite my objections and having told her clearly in the consultation that I wanted that to stay dark. One, big, chunky and unblended highlight on either side of my face with a clear demarcation line between my dark hair and the new lighter colour..... Awful. The colour came out a lot brassier and orange conpared to the nice deep chocolate shade i wanted. Then she chopped off about 41/2 inches of hair even though i made it clear to only cut 1 inch off. Saying "oh you needed it". After walking around the mall I got a look at the horrible, chunky, orangey highlights i got, i was so upset that i wasted $200 of my hard earned money on that. Not even CLOSE to a bayalage.... I basically got peekaboo highlights (ugly ones at that) . i felt bad complaining because she seemed to genuinely think she did a good job but i went back to complain because i hated my hair. A man I'm assuming is the owner agreed she did not give me the style i wanted and that the highlights weren't blended in properly and had her use a darker toner (which faded after a wash) to try and make it look better. He was very nice and apologetic. Offered to have someone else redo my hair free of charge when i was ready. As much as i appreciate the offer, it should've been done right the first time and i shouldve been given a full or partial refurn since i got NOTHING that i wanted from that visit. Also, i waited over a year since colouring to do this and was so excited! I don't want to fry my hair by having to bleach it again now. After my experience I just dont feel comfortable with letting anyone at this place touch my hair. Im going to wait a couple of weeks and just use a box dye to get rid of this horrible experience. Bottom line, would NOT recommend unless maybe you come for a simple cut.
I went in on Sunday to get my hair curled for a wedding. I told the lady that my hair only curls with an iron (hair's thick long and straight). She insisted on using a hair dryer. She put mousse in my wet hair - no combing. It became a tangled mess and she tore a bunch of hair fighting to pull a round brush through. By the time she did one half it was already straightening out. A second woman came and said no do it with an iron before I could tell her. So lady2 used a curling iron on one half and lady1 used flat iron to curl. Lady1 doesn't know this technique- I do it at home perfectly on the rare instance I curl my hair. There were bent lines where she would first clamp the iron down and she wasn't angling the iron enough. Also all the curls were in the same direction so they all locked together into 3 or 4 locks. Most of the curls were losing shape o competely flat before I left the mall. The only curls that somewhat stayed were lady2s. I came out with a stiff frizzy semi curl earnest full of tangled and hair that's pulled and roughed up. Note that I have cared for very healthy straight hair with no frizzy. I only came out to get my hair done because I thought I'd treat myself and have a professional do it. It must be about 6 years since I've gone to a salon for anything other than a cut and this was grossly disappointing. Just a simple wash and dry at home would have had my hair looking 100x better.A tip - don't go so a salon that doesn't have any customers in there. There's a good reason for it.
