I don't know where to begin with this review because there were so many things that went wrong. I came here for a permanent dye and was severely disappointed. When I first arrived, the hairstylist Fanny informed that she had mobility issues which made it hard for her to move but ensured that it would not affect her ability to do my hair and that dyeing was an easy job. Her listed price for a dye is $72 and she informed that it would be more since my hair was long and thick and I also wanted a trim which I was fine with. She said it would be $145 for the dye and trim but I ended up paying $209 after tax for a horrible job on my hair and no trim. She claimed that the price change was for color correction for having box dyed my hair ONCE in my life however I would’ve appreciated if she had been transparent about her prices from the beginning. Her mobility issues prevented her from being able to move her wrists properly which I realized too late into the appointment. she was being very rough on my hair and I expressed my discomfort to her to which she responded "beauty is pain". The entire time she was speaking very inappropriately and was giving me details of her family issues and love and sex life which made me very uncomfortable especially since I am a minor. My appointment was for 1:30 and ended up lasting 4 hours and a half due to her mobility issues which caused her to work very slowly which I was fine with however she also took three smoke breaks during her appointment and she had another client at 4:00 which she had to turn away because she was still working on my hair. She blamed me for it to the client and told me to apologize to her several times for having to turn away that client. Around three hours into the appointment, she informed me that she was feeling tired and basically didn't know if she could do a good job on my hair which she didn't. The results of my hair were also completely different from what I asked for her (pictures listed). The color was very different and there are several patches on my hair which have no dye only bleach. Through the entire appointment, she had me do many things for her such as opening products for her, brushing, blow drying and oiling my own hair because of her wrist problems which I understood but she shouldn't have charged me 2.5x the original price if I had to work on my own hair. I left the appointment so upset and now I have to box dye my own hair or go to a different salon to fix the mess. Shortly after I posted this review, she sent me a threatening text and insulted me for sharing my honest experience. Would not recommend.
Stay away and dont trust your kid’s hair here. The French woman destroyed my son’s beautiful blonde curly hair. She was told to not cut it short, he has 0.3mm hair left instead of long beautiful curls, almost bald. Also the line on his forehead is so off the line and even it is embarrassing. It will take half a year to get back to normal. Awful, awful, awful!
Love this place. You get personal service of a small business couple with organization and order of a large company. Everything is done correctly and on time. Your time is never wasted here because of poor scheduling. All staff including Fanny and Chris are well experienced and know their stuff. Two thumbs up!
Fanny is absolutely amazing! I went to her for a Keratin treatment and it was my first appointment with her. Not only she's a super talented and a friendly hair dresser but she's also an inspirational person. Don't doubt her abilities for a second to give you the perfect haircut or whatever you want. My spouse too went to her the day after for a haircut and she did a great job on his hair too. I would definitely go again and recommend her to anyone looking for a good hair dresser in the area! I came to Fanny K Salon looking for a stylist who would be willing to join me on my crazy hair journey to blonde. I am SO happy I found Firozeh. Not only was she able to turn my brown hair blonde after just one sitting, but I’ve found a stylist I really connect and trust with my hair. On top of that, I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the salon. Firozeh and Fanny make the environment so friendly and fun to be a part of. I feel very lucky to have found them!
Fanny did an AMAZING transformation! I gave my end requirement and asked her to work her magic and that she did so brilliantly. The place is full of fun energy and immaculate. Loved everything from booking the appointment to walking out of the door. Thanks Fanny!!
Went to Fanny K for the first time and had Fanny style/cut my hair. One word: Awesome. Fanny has amazing knowledge of what style you need and have much to cut, she was very precise with my trim and knew exactly where to cut. Day 2 and I am extremely happy with the cut. For men, Fanny also offer clean up services.
Decided at the last minute that I wanted a haircut and Fanny K Salon was able to accommodate me. I walked into a very clean salon and was greeted warmly by my stylist. Melisa patiently discussed with me a style that would suit my lifestyle and even gave me tips as to how I can style my hair differently. I also appreciate the fact that products and packages are not heavily promoted at this salon.
This review is a bit late (5 days)...I found this place awhile a go when my hairdresser moved. In a state of panic I did a search for hair salons in my area and Fanny K Salon popped up. However, I'm one of those types who is very hesitant to jump into a new service especially when I've found one that I've liked. It took me some time, but I finally decided to go. Actually, my hair was getting out of control so I had to go. No choice, really. But I'm soooooo glad I did! I arrived at my appointment knowing wanted to get a lob, which I've had before. But apart from that, I had no other instructions. I lucked out and got Fanny, and she was amazing! With that little bit of info i gave her, she gave me exactly what I wanted: a short cut with some texture, that I was sorely lacking. The staff were welcoming and friendly, which I'll admit that I worry about when I come to these salons. If you're in the market for a new hair stylist or if you're looking for a change I would highly recommend Fanny K Salon. And if you get Fanny as your stylist you won't be disappointed. Fanny explained what she was going to do throughout the whole process which is nice rather than having someone just start cutting which I've also had done. And she's hilarious! A week later and I'm so pleased with the job she did on my hair!!! Thank you, thank you!!!
I had called to ask if they by any chance did waxing and the woman on the phone replied that they did. I asked when would be best for me to come in and she replied with "right now works". Therefore, I rushed to get dressed and was lucky that I lived nearby. I arrived to the salon within ten minutes of when I had called. There was no one at the desk when I walked in and no customers were there. I heard a woman's voice from the back exclaim "where is that f*****g woman??". I was taken aback at the impatient, vulgar and unprofessional behaviour that I overheard. What made it worst was that she thought the customer was not present but I most definitely was. I did not appreciate being spoken about like that when I was told by them to come right away and made it within ten minutes. The woman came out from the back and looked at me hoping I hadn't overheard what she said. I didn't mention anything since I did not want to create any confrontation. I do not want to generalize my opinion towards the entire business as Mariam, the woman who took care of me, was extremely kind, helpful and professional. She did an impeccable job and I was very pleased with the outcome. I was extremely disappointed and upset as I had read all the great reviews online last night and was looking forward to potentially becoming a regular client. What a horrible way to speak about a first time client! It made me wonder if this wasn't the first time and if she spoke about other clients behind their backs too.
