I brought in my Late-2015 MacBook Pro because it had been running slowly and making unusual noises. I can't thank James enough! My laptop's hard drive was on its last legs, practically dead!! And I thought all my data was gone forever. James took two days and miraculously recovered every single file without a hitch. Found Unitak on Google and their high rating is well deserved. James the owner runs a tight one man operation in his small commercial space. He's been doing this for 27 years! Took my 2015 Imac to have the HDD replaced with an SDD as it was painfully slow to run programs. After the upgrade it runs lightning quick and I saved 1400$ as I was going to just buy a new IMac. I wasn't aware that an SDD upgrade would solve all my issues. Thanks James!
Update Dec-24: James is a master at his craft. Had a mishap with a one year new MacBook Pro screen. James replaced the screen and being technical myself I was concerned about Apple’s lockdown, anti right to repair behaviour and part pairing. This requires certain work around to be able to achieve full functionality of the replaced part. For example, the display control chip and the code chip need to be removed from the old screen and re soldered to the new one. You can’t just swap the LCD. Upon receiving the laptop, from what I can see, True Tone, ambient light sensors and front facing camera are working. I would recommend James, he has a very high level of technical competency. —— Had a 2013 MacBook Pro under its battery cycle count but with a service battery warning. This procedure requires removing the glue from the existing housing and installing a new battery. James has it done in one hour. Other places might be 1 day turn around. As someone who has extensive experience in this field, I can vouch for James’ skills from what I can see, and would recommend him for repairing Apple hardware issues. The battery is working well so far and I hope it will continue to do so. Thanks James
