I would like to thank all staff at this location.. we recently adopted a rescue dog that we were fostering. The staff were super helpful, knowledgeable and kind in helping us choose the right food. I visited this store a week ago because I wanted to keep two little birds. I had been to PetSmart before, but their prices were high, and the staff’s attitude was average. Wendy at this store was very friendly and patient. I’m grateful for her recommendations and advice. The prices were very reasonable, and the birds are so adorable!
I went to that pet value store today, and let me tell you, it was a disaster. I walked in, and it’s just me and the store employee. I was trying to return some dog food that was making my poor pup’s stomach churn, but oh boy, it was like dealing with a brick wall. The lady behind the counter insisted that without a receipt, I couldn’t get a proper exchange. I grabbed the new food. For the price difference, I asked for a gift card and she refused, instead, she wanted me to spend the full amount on something else, which, mind you, goes against Pet Value’s policy that they have on their website. When I pointed that out, she casually brushed it off, saying it’s a franchise, so they do whatever the owner pleases. Great, right? So, in an attempt to salvage something from this miserable trip, I asked for two specific treats. Surprise, surprise, they didn’t have them. At this point, I was just grabbing random stuff to match the price. After the transaction, she had the audacity to remind me to keep the receipt, claiming it’s a real hassle for them to find it in their system. I couldn’t help but ask, “You were able to find it, right?” She admitted “yes, but it would take her half an hour”. Seriously, why is she even working there when she refuses to help a customer, especially when there’s no one else in the store? It’s beyond frustrating.
The employee was very very helpful and kind. They tried to help you and also gave you suggestions on selecting the pet food. Also tried their best to help you make sure the discount was applied correctly. Also explained to you very nicely how the calculation was done for the promotion in their system and made sure you agreed with the price. Overall it’s a shopping nice experience as a new customer. One suggestion would be there is no brand sign at the front door, so it took me sometime to find the door to get in
This store is terrific. The couple who own and operate it are very knowledgeable and very service oriented. They are excellent ambassadors for the Pet Valu Brand. They are genuinely interested in customer service. Go in and meet Lulu!
Usually well stocked but sometime out of things I went to purchase. With the soaring food prices I believe this location is gouging pat owners. My dogs love fruitables which I believe to be a healthy treat for my dogs. The advertised price on the o'er value website is $8.99 a bag, I have seen them selling for more at this location. Canadian Tire sells the same product for $7.99 and Walmart Supercenters sell the same sized bag for $6.97. Another buyer beware, consumers do your homework! I'm getting tired of supporting small local businesses when they keep reaching deeper into my wallet.
