Sussex park is a cool place with a community garden and a park great for small kids. After around 9 pm and before 9 am its a little bit shady as some strange people do walk around there sometimes. It's next to a factory so it does smell a little bit sometimes but other than that it's okay. There could be more trees there and they could probably squeeze in an off leash dog park which would be great. There are 2 trash cans there next to each other in the middle of the park but there really should be more as there is a little bit of trash here and there.
Has everything from a community vegetable garden, place where kids smoke weed and litter all their bongs, a kids playground, a makeshift homeless campsite on the hill (with firepit) and a nice big field for people to let their dogs poop and not pickup after their pets.
Don't like the fact that there is sand in the park! Hoping this will be changed to something better to accommodate little kids 1 to 6 years
Has a nice walking trail leading to the central play area from both entries. Lots of trees and shrubs in the park. Relatively less crowded. Good for an impromptu picnic with the kids.
Not a bad place to jog. Where's the parking area? Can't find it.... :-( It's okay, I came to jog...
