Firstly, everyone who works here is extremely nice and helpful. Store is tidy and organized. You can find some items at a good price while others are grossly overpriced. For example, Zara items with multiple flaws are 29.99. Zara is not designer or hard to find. You can often buy new from the store for less. Beat up old leather things of any sort are $49.99. It’s a bit much and even VV doesn’t price that high. Just something for management to consider. I often leave many items behind because they are overpriced. Sometimes better to move more at a more affordable price than have it sit.
I have been shopping at thrift stores for over 20 years and the best one I have found is this particular Salvation Army Thrift Store at 11300 Yonge St in Richmond Hill. The reasons are numerous and significant - the store is bright, clean and well organized, the items are in great condition, the staff are helpful and courteous, and the prices are excellent (and no HST because they are a registered charity). As well, the store manager is truly exceptional as he leads by example (he is hands on and makes sure that all the staff is extremely customer focused). In summary, I would encourage all thrift store customers to visit this store - compared to the others, it is truly "a breath of fresh air"!.
I have donated a lot of things here, but when I called asking to check for an item that was mistakenly donated and put it on hold for me, so I can buy it back, they said no.
This is a hidden gem for anyone who loves unique finds at great prices. Their selection is always well-curated, with a mix of vintage pieces, quality clothing, and home decor treasures. The store is clean, well-organized, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Whether you're hunting for a statement piece or just browsing, there’s always something special to discover. Highly recommend for thrift lovers!
Poor customer service I went to this location, bought a coat wore it to the mall in half an hour the coat fell apart. I brought it back spoke to the assistant manager YURE . She has no class did not want to hear what I have to say completely dismissed what I was saying And told me no money back only store credit this coat should not have been on the floor. It’s rotten. It’s garbage that’s a rip off. The coat was in heavily compromised condition. Upon first glance and inspecting the coat, it didn’t seem to be anything wrong with it until I left the store with two hours I returned to the store to ask for a refund and they would not honour it. I am aware of salvation Army return policy however the item was severely damaged . I should’ve gotten my money back, considering how much I paid for the coat. Destroyed/damage item. The assistant manager, YURE was not understanding or considerate. TERRIBLE SERVICE. If there was an option to give a zero rating, I would.
I have visited this particular store a year ago I thought it was quite good if best to check now and then twice a month or every 3 months just to see what they have and I'm looking for good electronics and records maybe the odd shirt pants but the prices I know are much better than the shopping malls.. if I find the Salvation Army store I will make an attempt to shop there. I'm always finding something of value there.
