Would give 0 stars if I could. Absolutely the worst. Took so much time to only take basically nothing kept saying it was out of season but took the oldest looking items. Also stole 2 new leggings that no longer fit. Wasn't in the bin that they were taking. Actually a scam.
I have been a customer of Plato’s Closet since they first opened and I shop there all the time at least once a week. I’m not one to leave reviews but I really wanted to acknowledge the staff, in particular Selina and Annette. These two girls are so amazing, they always greet me with a beautiful smile and are super welcoming!! They are always so happy and willing to help. On one occasion in particular I was shopping to buy boots for my son; Selina went out of her way to check the back to see if she could find any in his size. I can honestly say that these girls care about their customers and love their job. I just want to say thank you for always being so wonderful when I come to shop at Plato’s :)
Their “buying” process is a joke. I brought more than 20 pieces of clothing in good condition, including brands like Champion and Brooks Brothers. They ended up offering $4.50 for two worn-out T-shirts with stains and rejected all the other sweaters and hoodies, which were much more decent. What a waste of effort and time. Don’t bother coming.
nice selection of clothes but disappointed that when I went to use my gift card they said their machine couldn’t accept it since they upgraded their debit machine. When I asked when this upgrade happened they said several months ago, which is not acceptable in my opinion.
One of the worst Plato’s Closet in the gta, after the North York location!! I brought two bags of clothing, which many of were new. I dropped my bag at 11:50 and at 1:50. It took two hours and I had to tell them that I didn’t get a text to advice me that my stuff were ready to be picked up. After all that wait, they offered me $6, what a waste of time. They really take their sweet time. From now on I’ll be donating my clothes.
The location is nice and I’ve found some quality clothing here, the staff at this Plato’s Closet are consistently rude, especially to customers bringing in clothing. On every occasion I’ve visited, they’ve turned people away in the most dismissive way, loudly insisting they only want clothing for “high school and college kids.” It’s honestly mind-blowing to watch them reject perfectly good, black slacks or blouses that students could actually wear to interviews or jobs) while stocking the racks with yellow-stained crop tops. What makes this worse is that they proudly advertise brands like Aritzia, Wilfred, and Zara brands that do make blouses, slacks, and polished basics young adults actually need for internships, interviews, and first jobs. To reject those pieces while pushing low-quality fast fashion is hypocritical and out of touch with their own mission. This location needs to do better. Better training, better professionalism, and better quality clothing for customers who come here expecting value. Right now, they are failing on all counts.
I recently visited Plato’s Closet in Richmond Hill, and I was thoroughly impressed! This store is a fantastic place for anyone looking to refresh their wardrobe without breaking the bank. **Pros:** - **Great Selection:** The variety of clothing and accessories is outstanding. I found everything from trendy tops to stylish shoes, all in excellent condition. - **Affordability:** Prices are very reasonable, making it easy to find quality items at a fraction of the original price. - **Friendly Staff:** The employees were welcoming and helpful, offering suggestions and making the shopping experience enjoyable. - **Clean and Organized:** The store was tidy and well-organized, which made it easy to browse through the racks. **Cons:** - **Busy on Weekends:** The store can get quite crowded on weekends, so if you prefer a quieter shopping experience, consider visiting during the week. - **Limited Sizes:** While there’s a great selection, certain sizes can be harder to find, especially in popular items. Overall, my experience at Plato’s Closet Richmond Hill was fantastic, and I left with several great pieces! I highly recommend checking it out for anyone looking to update their wardrobe sustainably.
