We ordered food from Darband Restaurant for our office birthday party, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish! The food arrived fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The variety and quality of the dishes impressed everyone, and the flavors were authentic and satisfying.

The customer service was somewhat lacking, and the overall food quality didn’t meet expectations. The koobideh kebab, rice, grilled tomato, and albaloo polo were all disappointing in taste and quality. The only highlight was the lamb shank, which was flavorful, and the portion sizes were generous. Unfortunately, the atmosphere didn’t feel comfortable for dining in. I hope they work on improving the quality and overall experience.
I’ve ordered from this Persian restaurant many times and usually really enjoy their food, especially the koobideh. The delivery was on time and everything was packaged well, as always. However, this time the koobideh had noticeable pieces of cartilage, which made it quite unpleasant to eat. I appreciate this restaurant and have had great meals here in the past, so I hope this was just an isolated issue. With more attention to the meat quality, I’d be happy to continue ordering and enjoying their food again.
My experience at this location was unfortunately not very good. I had called ahead to place an order and then drove for about half an hour to pick it up, as I was on a schedule. When I arrived, the cashier said they didn’t have my order and also mentioned that I hadn’t paid — though payment was never requested or offered as an option over the phone. No apology was offered, and I found the man cashier’s attitude quite dismissive. We ended up waiting in the store until the food was prepared. When we finally received our order, the portion for the Ash Reshteh was smaller than expected and tasted quite salty. I really hope the service at this location improves. We’ve had much better experiences at their other branch, so I hope they can train staff here to be more professional and welcoming, it truly makes a difference.
Darband Express is a fantastic spot for Persian cuisine in Richmond Hill. We tried the lamb neck, and it was absolutely delicious, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The portion size is generous, easily enough for two people to share, making it great value. The service was friendly, and the ambiance was cozy and welcoming. I highly recommended for anyone who may love Persian foods!
If the food is heavy and the bag is cheap paper made, separate the weight using multiple bags, so it is safe to be delivered. The girl shoved every food she can in the cheap thin brown paper bag and told me to hold the bag from the bottom and when I hold it by the handle she started to say stuff she shouldn’t have to anyone. You can run your business stupidly but treat others with some respect alright?
