My baby had an emergency on a Sunday and this clinic shows as Open on Sundays from 9:00 to 12:00pm. I drove all the way from another city, and the door was locked. They were closed
Terrible patient management. I wish there was an option not to put any stars. It’s a total waste of time. A quick ten-minute appointment will kill your WHOLE DAY.
Dr. Gunawardena was assigned as my baby’s paediatrician at the hospital and at first she seemed very caring, but I quickly realized she is completely overwhelmed and unable to manage her patients even thought she is still accepting new patients. Every single visit has meant waiting 3–4 hours, even with a scheduled appointment. Most of the time my son didn’t even see her, just one of the many other doctors she hires we’ve been to her clinics expecting to see her and asked to see her and have seen her only 3 out of the 10 times we’ve been. When requesting an appointment to see Dr G we have always been told it’s 2 months waiting time so i had to see other Drs in her clinic i had no choice!!! She missed his six-month vaccine visit and nine-month checkup altogether which are big checkups i would except my sons actually paediatrician to perform. Both of her clinics are horribly overcrowded and mismanaged. At my sons 9 month appointment there were over 15 people (parents kids and babies) that crammed into waiting room made for 8 max, with kids in wheelchairs left in the hallway because there was no space. The male receptionist told me to “go to Costco for an hour” because there were no seats? they didn’t call me back until three and a half hours later shocked that i wouldn’t come back to the appointment but not offering to reschedule to anything like that, the male receptionist at north richmondhill clinic is very very rude and overworked and just such a negative mood always it’s so sad. Was he expecting me to “go to costco” and wait there for 3 hours with a BABY who has a scheduled time to eat sleep etc… Another time they tried to have an “assistant” (he was not a nurse not a doctor not an allergist, i asked ) perform an allergy test on my 7 month old baby after we had waited two hours in the waiting room for an already scheduled appointment i had to wait 3 months but i felt very uncomfortable and unsafe for my baby and left. At a different allergy clinic that i found independently, I was told only an allergist or allergist nurse can do this, which confirmed how unsafe that situation really was. I have since transferred my son to another pediatrician who is attentive, organized, and respectful of families’ time. The difference has been night and day. Even the best Doctors in the world see their patients within a reasonable timeframe and don’t just pass off their patients to other doctors they hire the way Dr Gunawardena does. Dr. Gunawardena may mean well she seems very caring and lovely at first, but her clinics are chaotic, overcrowded, unsafe, and poorly managed, and I cannot recommend them to any parent. She can’t take proper care of her patients very disappointed. This is not how babies and parents should be treated.
I had a very disappointing experience at this clinic. The front desk staff called me ahead of time, assuring me that there wouldn't be much of a wait. However, when we arrived, we ended up waiting for more than an hour beyond our scheduled appointment time with no explanation or apology. This was incredibly frustrating, especially after being told there wouldn't be much of a wait. To make matters worse, the front desk staff was unprofessional and dismissive when I inquired about the delay. Their attitude only added to the frustration. For a children’s clinic, I expected far more consideration for both patients and their families. I will not be returning and will be looking for a clinic that respects its patients' time and provides better service overall.
Extremely long wait times, 2 hour wait minimum with appointment. Children with needs simply cannot wait this long. It’s not about being thorough with appointment. The clinic clearly over books patients. If care needs to be extensive then why do they overbook. Not all appointments are due to extreme healthcare concerns, some are routine check ups or vaccinations. It’s completely ridiculous, they do not respect family time. They have no entertainment for an kids waiting, except for a unfam kids tv channel.
The clinic failed to forward her records to her doctor now practicing at another clinic. They don't follow up. The referral to a Therapist never happened. My daughter needs help as she developed a sleep disorder several years ago. To date she hasn't slept normally. One.weekend she was awake 36 hours and only slept 6 hours after that. No one at this clinic cares
Dr. Madhavi Moharir is amazing. She will take the time to listen to your questions and will give an explanation. The only down is the wait time is too much. But as a pediatrician Dr. Madhavi is amazing. I have had only positive reviews for her.
