Very poor experience here spent 4 lessons talking about the same thing, 30 min lessons always cut short. Just seem like they want to get it done quickly and take the money
Don’t waste your money & time Got fitted for a set of Taylor Made Sim 2 . When I arrived at Golftec Richmond Hill I showed the fitter my spec on my previous two fittings. When previous clubs where 3/4 longer from standard my driver was 10.5 . When I received my new set of clubs Golftec supplied me wit h a 9.5 driver waited two weeks received proper driver head . Used clubs summer 2021 had problem hitting irons. Tried 2022 to see what problem was could not get a appointment went to Arizona with my clubs got fitted there found out clubs where all standard length Contact Drew at Golftec he said he would talk to the manager Steve Fox went to def ears will not do anything for me and will not answer my e mails
In my first lesson I learned I did not know how to swing the golf club. Drew Symthe, by the 10th lesson, had taught me how to swing the golf club and hit the ball consistently with extra yardage. He also instructed me on chipping, hitting from the sand and hitting from uneven terrain.
I was fitted for a new set of irons to replace a set I bought in high school. The process was excellent. No pressure, thoughtful and methodical. In the end, I bought a set that fit within my budget and featured several customizations that suit my swing and body. Fee was $100 for the service, but was waved because I purchased. The clubs I bought also happened to be on sale, so I saved a few more bucks. If you're reading reviews to determine if this is the good spot for club fitting. It is. Shout out to Steve Fox for excellent service.
Was very disappointed in the whole experience. It went from lets try a few drivers and see what feels comfortable and gets the best results to basically them trying to sell me a lesson. Feels like a whole money grab; i was only able to try 2 drivers through the entire 1.5 hours. I was disappointed they didn't have any lower end driver heads I could try. I was only being fitted in the top of the line $600 clubs, which I definitely was not interested in paying that much. They only had the TaylorMade SIM, PING G410, and Callaway Mavrik; i was hoping to try a Mizuno or Cobra driver to compare feel. I'd say very poor value and would've much rather spent that $100 with any other fitter or on an actual driver. I also felt the fitter was ripping on my swing form the entire time. I know i'm an average golfer and not great with the driver, but my swing is my swing, I make it work, and it cannot be fixed with a snap of his fingers. All of this got in my head as I was trying to do what he was advising, but the results were even worse and just wasted a chunk of the session. Don't waste your time or money. I'd recommend going to a fitter on an actual range outside so you can see your ball flight and hear the sound of the club.
Been working with Steve Maltby for a little over a month now and already see drastic improvement in my swing. He takes the time to explain things clearly in a way that makes it easy to understand. I highly recommend Golftec and Steve to anyone looking to improve their golf game.
