Stumbled into this tiny specialty coffee shop while killing time before dim sum, and left genuinely impressed by their coffee knowledge and approachable service. THE STANDOUTS: Iced matcha latte ($7) delivered real matcha flavour with earthy complexity – not that pale green sweetened milk some places pass off as matcha. Barista asked about milk customization before making it, which showed thoughtful attention to preferences. Ordered flat white ($5.50) and got asked to CHOOSE between coffee beans (Brazil Natural or Costa Rica Peaberry Blend, +$1 for the latter). When we asked about differences, barista explained clearly and knowledgeably without any pretension or making us feel dumb. This is specialty coffee done right – expertise without intimidation. SPACE REALITY: Genuinely tiny with just a few chairs and tables. Not laptop-friendly or designed for extended work sessions, but perfect for quick quality coffee runs, post-meal palate cleansing, or strategic waiting periods before nearby reservations. LOCATION: Faces Highway 7 directly. Didn't spot dedicated parking as I parked in plaza lot a couple buildings away and walked over. BEST FOR: Coffee and tea enthusiasts who want quality beverages and knowledgeable conversation rather than workspace or all-day hangout spot. Solo coffee dates, bean discussions with barista, or strategic pre/post-meal caffeine stops. CUSTOMER SERVICE: This is what makes Foreword worth returning to. Thoughtful, knowledgeable, patient service that makes specialty coffee accessible rather than exclusive. Made us genuinely want to explore different drinks rather than sticking with safe choices. PERFECT TIMING: Post-dim sum palate cleansing, pre-restaurant waiting, early arrival parking strategy sessions (my exact situation), or quick quality coffee runs for locals. Would I go out of my way specifically for Foreword? Probably not. Would I strategically plan to arrive early for nearby activities just to grab coffee here first? Absolutely. ? Love this little coffee shop! The owner is super knowledgeable and attentive. It’s a small shop but the atmosphere is so heart warming. Would highly recommend this place for specialty coffee!

Foreword Specialty Coffee Roasters is rocking on Hwy 7! This place is a total gem — easy parking, super friendly staff, and they even welcome pets (huge bonus for dog lovers like me!). The atmosphere is chill and cozy, perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying a quiet coffee moment. Their pour-over is an absolute must-try — smooth, rich, and expertly brewed. You can really tell they care about quality here. So happy to support this amazing new spot. Highly recommend checking it out!
