I’ve read some reviews and thought a lot about my experience. Most of those negative reviews seem to come from overly sensitive or reactive people. Yes, the staff aren’t your typical overly cheerful customer service types, but they were fully compliant with questions and requests. It wasn’t disrespectful, it was straightforward. Honestly, if you can’t handle that, you probably wouldn’t cope well with American-style customer service, which often values no nonsense and practicality over fake niceness. It’s obvious they’ve been here a long time and have seen their fair share of entitled or difficult customers. They’re professional, competent, and know how to run the place without pretending or overdoing friendliness. I’ve spent the time to write this as an appreciation reflecting from my experience and felt like it deserved a review. That being said, I came here with a friend and immediately loved the vibe, really nostalgic, felt like stepping into a childhood memory. Talked to the guy at the front and found out the place has been around since the 90s. Honestly, this was the best bowling experience I’ve had compared to other places. The whole environment felt natural and authentic, nothing like the corporate, modern, “pretty but basic” alleys. The food was also far more enjoyable than what you normally get. Prices were reasonable and practical, way less ridiculous than paying half the price for a single game at other spots. (To those stating it’s expensive, it is very competitive and reasonable compared to others and unrealistic to say otherwise) The music isn’t blasted like in a club, and the staff felt far more authentic than typical customer service, which made the place feel timeless rather than overly modern. All in all, it felt exactly like what you’d imagine “back in the days” bowling, with no dilution or pretense. This was a genuinely enjoyable experience that made me want to make it a main spot moving forward. If you don’t enjoy it, fine, don’t come back, but for me, this was authentic, memorable, traditional and far better than anything corporate or modern I’ve tried.
AVOID Richmond Hill Pro Bowler Like the Plague! I'm still fuming writing this review. my daughter joined her grade 6 church group to what I thought would be a fun night out at Richmond Hill Pro Bowler. BIG MISTAKE. The place is a DISASTER - dirty, shady, and the staff are completely clueless. My daughter tried to buy food for her teammates (already purchased chicken nuggets, mozzarella cheese sticks, a slushy) and they were literally denied a LARGE POPCORN because she didn't want to buy 4 more bags or round up 4 more friends. Yes, you read that right. They wouldn't even sell her a large bag. Because they don't want to run the machine only to sell 1 large bag. Unbelievable. But wait, it gets better. Their jelly Bean candy machine swindled my daughter's friend's quarter and the staff wouldn't even bother to help or refund the money. "The quarter is in, can't get it back out"?! Are you kidding me?! Zero customer service, dirty environment, and rip-off machines. Would NOT recommend Richmond Hill Pro Bowler to my worst enemy. 0/5 stars would not waste my time or money again. Edit (respond to owner): I'm appalled, but not surprised, by your response. As the owner, you should be ashamed of the lack of customer service and poor treatment of my daughter and her church group. The issues we experienced were not just about a jelly bean and popcorn, but about being treated unfairly and disrespected. To clarify, the kids did go to the front desk for help with the malfunctioning candy machine, and your staff (and/or you) refused to assist or provide a refund. This is unacceptable. I'm not making excuses or trying to make the church group look bad, so don't put words in my mouth; I'm sharing our genuine experience. Your establishment FAILED to provide basic customer service, and it's disappointing that you're more concerned with defending your business than addressing the issues. As a parent and advocate for quality education, I'm particularly disturbed by the treatment my daughter and her teammates received. Your staff's and your behavior was unprofessional, and your response only reinforces our decision to warn others about the poor service at Richmond Hill Pro Bowler. I stand by my review and encourage others to share their experiences. I hope you'll take this as an opportunity to reflect on your business practices and make necessary changes to improve customer service.
Today we had a gathering with family to have fun and celebrating a Birthday party, the foods were fantastic, but the guy who was receptionist (Jessi) was so rude to us. I didn’t get the reason. If your employees dont want to work on weekends or have problems, dont put them for any customer service related jobs. Just put someone there who cares about your business.
*Had a very disappointing experience at Richmond Hill Pro Bowl today. The staff member Paul was extremely rude, shaking his head at us from the start and even calling us ‘stupid’ after we selected our lane. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable in a customer service setting. We came to have a fun time in a group of 5 people, but the poor attitude of Paul really ruined the experience. Hope owner takes this seriously and improves their customer service standards.
We have been twice now in a month .We did 2 hours of 5 pin the first time all adults, and the next time we took the grandkids too .We all had a lot of fun . They have a snack bar with a wide variety of food and drinks .This establishment is also sells alcohol. I loved the 80 s and 90s music playing and watching the videos was great on the tvs .Little arcade also in the place .Will definitely be back !
Decent experience, music was great for a brief period. Front desk was not that friendly, but one person who was clearing the balls was super kind! Overall I enjoyed my time and I would go back.
I came here with my friends. Anyways I got a pop drink that was upwards of $2. I paid for it and pressed skip on the tip option, when the receipt printed she looked at it, looked at me, rolled her eyes said “oh thanks for that” with an attitude you won’t believe. I said, “what was that?” And she said nothing. Family owned business that clearly knows nothing about owning one. Nice job guys response to owner: I was extremely nice to the lady pouring me the drink. I was still given harsh attitude and a non-professional behaviour.
